My name is Chloe and I am in charge of all things marketing at Nebula. I started as an apprentice at the start of January 2024, and completed a degree in Graphic Design previously. Outside of work, I love everything to do with motorsports – I try and attend car shows and events as much as possible. Aside from this, I find that being out in nature and walking is very beneficial and allows me to have some time away from the screens.

In many ways, 2023 may have been seen as the year of AI – the moment artificial intelligence exploded onto the scene with a Pope in a puffer jacket and many people thinking their jobs would go up in smoke.

The dust has settled since then, and the switched on are assessing the strengths and weaknesses of AI and how it can help their businesses.

Chat GPT stole many of the headlines, but this AI platform is really just the tip of the iceberg. There are many other generative AI platforms, one of which is Microsoft Copilot.

This video from Microsoft brings the possibilities to life for you:

What is Microsoft Copilot?

Copilot is Microsoft’s very own AI, built right into Windows 11. It is actually powered by Chat GPT (Microsoft is one of the biggest investors in the parent company OpenAI), so if you have an idea of the functionality of that, it will be a good starting point for understanding what Copilot can do.

Copilot uses large language models (LLMs) and enormous data sets to perform creative and repetitive tasks for you very efficiently. It can:

  • Generate content
  • Understand and summarise information
  • Make informed predictions
  • Translate
  • Transcribe
  • And much more.

The advantage of Microsoft Copilot

You might have already spotted the unique selling point of Microsoft Copilot… It is already integrated with Microsoft 365, so is already available within many of the common tools you use like Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams and Outlook.

This makes it ideally placed as a productivity tool. You could ask it to summarise long email chains, or prepare a PowerPoint presentation based on a press release that has already been written. You can request it analyses a spreadsheet to tell you what your most profitable project is, or writes a first draft of a document for you to edit and sign off.

The impact of AI

In 2023, Goldman Sachs predicted that generative AI could add 7% to global GDP over the next 10 years – that’s nearly $7 trillion. As technology consultants to SMEs and charities, we advise that it will pay to make wise use of AI in your operations as early as possible to be part of this economic boost.

We can help you get set up and using Microsoft Copilot:

  • Advise you on all the ways in which you and your team will get most value from Microsoft Copilot.
  • Set Microsoft Copilot up across all devices and provide training on using it.
  • Be available to provide ongoing support or training as and when you require it.

If you would like to find out more about Microsoft Copilot and how we can help you get going with it to save you time, make you more efficient, expand your capabilities and much more, please get in touch with us today, using the contact form, or calling us directly.

We love bringing our energy to help SMEs and charities get more from the technology available to them, so please ask if this is of interest to you.
