IT can be an enabler and accelerator of business growth, providing a platform for employees to do their best work.
However, without adequate maintenance and management, IT can also prove to be something of an inhibitor. The latter is an all-too-common story in UK offices.
Research found that UK workers waste an average of 2.4 hours a week grappling with inadequate or ill-suited technology, equivalent to 1.8 billion working hours every single year across the country.
Poor technology comes in a host of forms, in many cases, businesses are investing in new technology but aren’t providing adequate training or education for these new systems. This means that staff are being asked to use new tools and platforms without guidance on how they will support them in their jobs – or even on how to use them. This is a problem that 77% of those surveyed have experienced.
